The boats launch from the beach in front of the lodge, and in season the runs share the water with whales passing down the coast.
Just off the coast lies an idyllic collection of five islands — Santa Carolina, Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque and Bangue — ringed by sandbanks and impossibly clear water.
